Hey guys!

At first I have to say that I'm from Germany, so my english isn't the best but I really hope you can understand me.

As you can see in the title After Effects crashes when I use the 3D-Cameratracker.

The error happens in the 2nd step as you can see in the pic.

(My language settings are german, so if you can't read something, just ask. )

I hope that we can find a solution!

If you need any datas, say it!

Have a nice day,

Danny Schober

Try transcoding your footage to a production codec. Use Adobe Media Encoder and render your clip out with the DNxHD or Cineform codec. Then bring the resulting file into AE and try running the 3d Camera Tracker on it instead.

I see that you turned the layer into a Guide Layer.  Is there a reason for doing that?

I`m sorry, I`m a real beginner. So I don`t know what a Guide Layer is, what I can do with and how to change it.

Could you explain it, please.

(So, I would like to know what a Guide Layer can do and how I can change it.)

Ich habe das ganze jetzt einmal mit der Hilfsebene und einmal ohne gemacht und beides ging nicht.

Gibts vielleicht noch andere Lösungswege / mögliche Probleme?

I watched a video so far and now I see what you mean!

No, there isn`t a reason to do that!

I will change it and test and hope that this was the issue.
