Photoshop CC2017 so slow! - more so in printer settings

Hi everyone

Ive read loads about different version of photoshop being painfully slow but haven't seen anything relating to my issue.

My photoshop seems to run fine and do everything it should (albeit that it takes AGES to load) but, my main issue is when I'm trying to print.  If I'm changing the card types, sizes, material, landscape, portrait, well, anything that involves "print" it just takes so long it is driving me INSANE!!!

I just hve no idea what to try.  I'm no expert so am at a total loss.
