Hello PS users
i've running this Bildbereiche präzise auswählen | Tutorial
The Lady explaning the steps started with a picture in PS CC but had already two layers open for it.
If i open the sample picture i only have one layer
and what ever i try or use i.e. diplicating the layer insert a mask layer and soo on, does not work
seems i'm lost.
can anyone tell me the steps needed to have the second layer ( black screen background layer)
many thanks in advance
Knut
Did you have the girl layer selected in the layers panel before going into select and mask? It looks like you had the black layer selected.

Please post a screenshot with the Layers Panel visible.
Layer > New > Layer Via Copy (cmd-J)
should duplicate the Layer, then you can click the Background Layer in the Layers Panel and use
Edit > Fill
to make it black.

it doesn't matter if the layer 0 is named bacckground via the layers panel also no difference if i fill it with black 50 or 100%
by the way i'm using the german PS CC 2017

Then reset Background and Foreground Colour (D or click the icon in the Toolbox) and hit alt-delete (this should fill with the Foreground Color).
And just to make sure first deselect (Select > Deselect, cmd-D).
