Lightroom crashes when going from Library to Develop

Hi

Over the last few weeks I've had the following problem.  Lightroom opens ok and I can browse the Library content.  However when clicking on Develop I frequently (but not always) get the message "Adobe Lightroom has stopped working .....".  When I click on the debug button I get the following message from the Visual Studio Just-In-Time Debugger "An unhandled win32 exception occurred in lightroom.exe [21716]".  The number changes each time it happens.  If it stays running when I move to Develop it appears to be stable.  If Lightroom opens up in Develop mode then it appears to be stable.

I can't track down anybody else with a similar problem in Lightroom.

Can anybody help?

TIA

Phil
