I am having an issue with using custom shapes...it seems that I cannot get a transparent background. Shape always has the color of the background that I started with when defining the shape as a pattern.  Ideas?  Thanks.

I got it, my error.  All I had to do was turn off the background layer when I made the pattern to get transparent!  Preparing the screenshot made me catch it! Thanks.

What are you talking about – Shapes or Patterns?

Please post a screenshot including the pertinent Panels (Layers, Channels, Options, …).

And how about the screenshot?

When you defined the Pattern was the background of the object transparent?

Please post a meaningful screenshot of the file you used to define the Pattern, not just of the resulting Pattern.
