I bought this version several years ago, and need to upgrade it. How?? I keep getting pointed to Adobe Creative Cloud. Surely I must be able to just pay for the upgrade to V6?

InDesign CS6 is no longer sold. Only the Adobe Creative Cloud version of InDesign is available from Adobe.

Just to expand on Steve's (correct) answer, the latest versions are CC2015/2017. You subscribe and pay monthly (Adobe checks possibly once a month that you're up-to-date with your subs). You download the application on to your computer (two allowed) and use it in the usual way.

Creative Cloud is just a name change. CS6 came and went. Then CC, CC2014, CC2015, CC2016. CS6, if they still sold it, wouldn't be much of an upgrade. The licensing model changed, but Adobe didn't keep the old model going.

There's no InDesign CC2016; it's InDesign CC2017.1.
