Crashed after updating to 2017

Updated the potoyshop CC and now i cant open certain files. I had someone resave a jpg for me and then I could open it. I can make a new file and open it fine. I reset the preferences but that didn't help. Any advice would be great.

never mind. when in doubt, reinstall.

well it did it again today. Wont open my files. Does anyone have this similar problem???????
