After selecting one photo, Lightroom CC shows not responding for a second to three seconds. After that, it works just fine.
Pressing shift and selecting a second photo (multiselect) causes that error to appear for a longer time.
Error occurs with graphics card enabled and disabled.
Software Version 1117303
OS: Windows 10 Professional 64 bit Insider KB4022725
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 860M w/ latest driver
Processor: Intel i7 4710HQ
RAM: 16GB DDR3
Some initial troubleshooting steps:
- If your current version of LR isn't CC 2015.10.1 / 6.10.1, update to that version.
- Make sure the Metadata panel's current tag set is set to Default. There used to a be a severe performance bug that slowed down selection when other sets (e.g. EXIF or IPTC) were selected, but that was fixed (at least for most of us) a long time ago. Maybe the bug has come back.
- Reset LR's preferences: https://www.lightroomqueen.com/articles-page/how-do-i-reset-lightrooms-preferences/

Are you selecting in the filmstrip or in the grid? Are you in Library or Develop?

I am working in grid mode and (therefore) am in the library tab.

Also, do Help > System Info and report the exact version of LR you're running. (LR CC doesn't always keep itself properly updated.)
