I made a logo for someone but we made a mistake in the illustration itself so I opened the indesign file but I can't seem to edit or delete any of the paths or anchor points on the logo

You haven't said what you have tried that doesn't work, so some questions:

Was the logo created in InDesign?

Or was it created in Illustrator and placed into InDesign?

Are you using the Direct Selection tool?

Did you deselect and then try to select an anchor point?

Is the layer locked?

Is the object locked?

Is it on a master page?

Who created the logo?

What happens when you try to edit it?

Screen shots help!

The logo may have been created in Illustrator and placed into InDesign. If the logo was placed into InDesign it would not be directly editable.

If you open the Links panel, do you see a link to the logo? If so, you can open the link in Illustrator to edit it.

Sounds like the logo WAS created in Illustrator, so that's where you want to edit it.

  1. In the Links panel (Window menu > Links), click the Edit Original button (pencil icon at the bottom right of the panel).
  2. Make your edits in Illustrator and save.
  3. Go back into the InDesign layout and if the logo does not update automatically, double-click on the the "exclamation in a triangle" warning icon next to the logo's listing in the Links panel. This should update the logo to include the change.

Hope this helps!
