We're attempting to use Acrobat Pro DC to convert 1000s of jpeg scans to searchable pdfs. It works well but consistently stops after 251 files, with an error message that the next file is damaged. After a reboot, it will process another 251 files, including the "damaged" file. We've tried it one two different systems, so it doesn't seem to be a computer issue. Has anyone seen this problem?
Thanks!

Acrobat is an interactive tool with VERY limited automation features. You're pushing it way too hard. Look for a specialist batch OCR tool.

There is no hard limit that says you can only process a certain number of files, but based on my experience, there is a practical limit for each Action or script that limits you to a certain number of files. When you cross that threshold, Acrobat will either get slower and slower until it almost stops running, or you end up with a crash as in your case. Whenever I have to process many files, I first try to establish where that limit is, and then create batches of fewer files than where the problems start to creep in. As TSN said, if that's not acceptable for your workflow, you will have to look for different tools.
