I have installed Lightroom on my macbook pro (Sierra) but cannot update it AT ALL. I get the updates failed error. (Updates have been suppressed by admin). I have been searching for 2 days how to fix this and there seems to be no solution? I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling multiple times. I found many threads with the answer to delete AdobeUpdateAdminPrefs.dat (This file doesn't exist for me instead it is called AdobeUpdaterPrefs.dat) When I delete this file, if I try to then update Lightroom it fails because the file immediately recreates itself?
I really need to be on Lightroom 6.10.1, what can I do about this?

use the 6.0 link below to download your 6.10 update
Downloadable installation files available:
Download and installation help for Adobe links
Download and installation help for Prodesigntools links are listed on most linked pages. They are critical; especially steps 1, 2 and 3. If you click a link that does not have those steps listed, open a second window using the Lightroom 3 link to see those 'Important Instructions'.

Hi, thanks for responding, I tried this already it is the same. When i try to update using the adobepatchinstaller it says update failedfailed (Surpressed by admin). I even went to the location of AdobeUpdatePrefs, deleted it and locked the folder so nothing can be written to it (to stop the .dat file recreating itself) but even then it says update failed when i tried again.

Finally! Lifesaver. Thank you! For anyone that comes across this issue the solution was to run the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool
