Why is my layers menu so big now?

Unless I've gone insane, when I clicked right click on a layer, I used to get a fairly compact menu. Now I get this monstrosity. How do I fix this? I've tried resetting preferences.

I'm almost certain my menu used to look a lot closer to the one in the cs5 example until recently. Is there a way to remove the options?

I don't use 90% of the stuff listed.

I'm not aware of a way to customise the right click contextual menu.
