Flashplayer install won't accept username/password

Trying to install Flashplayer on my MAC.  The Adobe site recognizes my username (email) and password.  But when it comes time to install Flashplayer and it asks for username/password, the box just vibrates.  Why does username/password work on the site but won't accept this for the actual install?

Hi adasil,

If you are getting the password window like the screen mentioned below then this is the Username and password for your MAC machine not Adobe. Also as stated by PAT, Flash player do not need any Adobe ID or Password.

If the user Name and Password are not working then you should contact MAC.

You don't need a userid/password to download the free Flash Player.

However, you will need your system's Administrator password to install it.

We're having the same problem. We can login to the Adobe site OK so surely when the installer asks for our Password it will be the same as the one we use to login to Adobe? This is deeply frustrating

Absolutely correct. I've been messing with trying to reset my adobe password for two weeks.  Didn't even think about my MAC password.  Thanks so much.  This was incredibly frustrating and to see the answer to my problem was a great blessing.  Thank you.

Hi ed wyatt,

If it is not accepting the user name and password of your system, then you should contact MAC once as it is the user name and password for MAC.

THANK You. Great Help. I have been trying to upgrade the Adobe Flash Player including  using  the Adobe chat forum. This has been an ongoing problem for months.. In each case the download did not recognize my password which I had created for Adobe. YOU solved my problem.It was the computer password.
