I have not been keeping up with upgrades and updates for that matter since purchasing this program. I wanted to upgrade to CS6 and as a procrastinator, that did not happen, now they are up to the Adobe CC. I did have an older version of CS3 but Adobe will not allow me to reinstall that one with the key I have. I paid full price for the CS5 to replace it with. I was attempting to download updates and such as to what I found and it kept saying the updates failed each time. It also went to say I would need to uninstall the program and then reinstall. I had to reinstall a new hard drive to the desktop as I refuse to buy into the telephone era of smartphones and such. Yes I am slow with changes and upgrades and I was wondering if there is any help for me?

Since you are a procrastinator, before you choose CS6 or a later version of Photoshop, I suggest you check out the requirements of the software. Your computer or operating system may not be able to handle the newer version you are considering. Check out this site: Older versions of Photoshop system requirements  as well  as: Photoshop system requirements
