The menu item under 'type' - 'Document footnote options', has vanished from the menu. It is not available when I run a 'find' either. It is as if it never was there...

Hi,

That is surprising.

Have you customized your menu? (Edit->Menus...)

From there you can check if you have toggled off the visibility for Document Footnote options.

Otherwise, you can clean your cache and preferences.Troubleshooting 101: Replace, or "trash" your InDesign preferences

Dear Aman

Thanks for your answer

I attach a screen shot of the Menu Customization to prove that there is no 'Document footnote option', to toggle off. It should be under 'Type' but is not listed.

I tried the manual clean of the cache and preferences but to no avail.

What do you suggest?

I'd suggest using the CC desktop app to uninstall InDesign and reinstall. It shouldn't take long to do.
