Difficulty Purchasing Lightroom Desktop

Just purchased a new iMac.Nice.

I am a new customer to Adobe and wish to purchase Lightroom. On the Adobe website I cannot find a link to just purchase & download Lightroom for iMac. Strange.

The Adobe website links to the Creative Cloud subscription for $13.30/Month.

Is it possible to purchase a stand alone version of Lightroom without the the Creative Cloud monthly subscription.

To be honest the Adobe Website is a confusing mess. How about a link to purchase Lightroom? Is that asking too much? LOL

Ian, I tested that link before offering it. It didn't give me the option to purchase. Is that because I'm already on the Creative Cloud plan? It only gave me the option to subscribe to the Creative Cloud.

I have no idea. The link is to the Adobe page that provides 'specific' instruction s on how to purchase Lightroom desktop version 6 rather than CC. However, having checked it on a computer that has never been connected to anything Adobe I find the 'Buy' option is CC only.

To squelch massive flammage: Until Adobe responds, I think we should charitably assume that the Adobe web team unintentionally broke this, rather than Adobe marketing just silently eliminating perpetual licenses.

Does seem to be an ill planned  marketing ploy.

Anybody need a $3 copy just let me know. I'm in Thailand and can send you a copy. LOL

Victoria, just curious: How did you find this updated link?  Is there a click path from Adobe.com to this?  (I just spent too long trying to find it...)

You might find it easier to buy a non-subscription disc or download of Lightroom 6 from an online retailer such as Amazon​, B&H Photo, or Adorama.

I live in Thailand and thought instead of buying a copy of Lightroom for $3 in the local market, I would purchase a legitimate copy of Lightroom from Adobe.

After spending 45 minutes dropping into the 'back hole' that Adobe calls a 'website', I gave up!
