Hey all,

Just wondering if this is something anyone else has experienced.
I went to batch export 127 photos to full size JPG and my CPU dimed out.

I haven't had this issue running even the most intense games I have on my PC.

It's a new build with 16GB of RAM... so I'm not sure what to think?

Anyone else have this issue? is it "normal"?

Thanks in advance for the discussion.

Exporting is apparently one of the few operations in Lightroom that can fully make sue of all your cores and that scales well with number of cores, so if it just maxes out all your cores, that is expected.

Which OS?

How many CPU cores?

It may be advantageous to fire multiple smaller batches, even in parallel.

Seems like a fatal flaw to me... but nothing I can really do about that right now, I guess...

Thanks for the help!

What do you mean by DIMED out?  Timed out?  Shuts down?   I would think you would want a program to use ALL the computer cores if needed and if it speeds the program up.

Spiked to 100% usage.
And using all of the computer cores is slightly different than hogging all of the processor power.

I guess I would prefer that all the cores were at 100% if Lightroom is using the processor power efficiently and speeding things up.  Exporting has to rerender every RAW file and that takes a lot of processing time.
