Does anyone know if there's a way to transfer cs6 from my old computer to a new one without the linked account or serial number? Or if there's a way to retrieve the serial number without the linked account?

I got cs6 on my old crappy computer from my school, but the software is therefor not linked with my private account, and i would like to use my other, better computer instead. Is there any hope?

Is the software licensed to the school or to you? Who paid for it? Is it a Volume Educational License?

If the software is an Educational version licensed to the school, it cannot be transferred to your private account, even if the school agrees.

You can deactivate CS6 on the current computer, and install it on the new one. For CS6, you will need your serial number, however. If you have lost it, see Find your serial number.

It is. And that makes sense. Is there however a way to move the software to my new pc, without transferring it to my private account?

You cannot just copy files from one computer to the other. You must install correctly from scratch.

Installing correctly depends on whether it's a retail License or volume License (more likely).

Volume Licenses have special arrangements with Adobe and must be downloaded from Adobe's volume licensing link

Adobe Licensing Website | Serial numbers, orders, and accounts

Do you know the Adobe ID linked to the CS6 on the old computer?
