When I import a JPEG sequence into Animate CC (Yes, it's numbered sequentially... 001, 002, 003, etc.) I only get the first file on the first frame. It doesn't fill the timeline.
I can't think why it would happen, but if all the images are in use and there is no symbol, that must mean they're all stacked up on top of each other on the stage. Try doing a select all, then right-click Distribute to Keyframes.

If you look at the usage column in the library you can see that all of the images are in use. My guess is that they were imported into a movieclip, and you're looking at the first frame of the movieclip on the stage. Scroll through the library to see if there is a movieclip.

Weird, I shut down and restarted and it's working now.
