Dear all,

I am trying to reproduce an buttonize effect I used before in Photoshop CS2 but after a lot of trying, I am not able to find back this specific tool. See attached link for an example.

Any hint from the forum would be highly appreciated.

Thanks a lot,

Pieter

Try Layer > Layer Style > Bevel & Emboss with »Chisel …« instead of »Soft« and superimpose a copy of the original Layer with a soft Layer Mask.

You’re welcome.

Just take care not to let the soft-edged copy extend beyond the base-layer.

And using Smart Objects would enable you to update both instances in one go.
