merging signed documents

I am using Adobe Standaard XI. I try to merge two signed documents. After merging the signatures are gone.

I'm surprised it allowed you to merge them at all. Signed documents can't be edited in such a way. It goes against the entire reason behind a digital signature... You can merge them into a Portfolio, if you wish, but not as a single PDF file.
