I have all the updated versions of lightroom on my new mac. every time i import my photos they are grainy and not really in focus. I have a new canon 6d & a sigma 35mm 1.4 lens. this wasn't ever an issue with my old computer. all my photos were in focus. this problem is driving me CRAZY!! I know it's not my ISO or anything like that. i always have it low 100-300. PLEASE SOMEONE HELP!

Perhaps it is because the Adobe default settings for the new 6D are not as good as they should be. I had a similar problem when I first purchased my 5D Mark 3. Try viewing the images with Canon's CPP and see how they look. If they look great, you will need to change your LR defaults for the 6D. I did a video on that at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C2ieRLya-cM.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C2ieRLya-cM

That's a very nice tutorial, very clear, I agree with what you did there; but the original poster said "grainy and out of focus" whatever that means, and LR does not create grain that is not present in the photo, and cannot adjust focus. So with respect to this particular problem, as described by the original poster, I don't think creating a preset is not going to solve the problem, it sounds like something else is going on here, and if we see a screen capture from the original poster, then we'll have a better idea of the proper solution.

LR can't change the focus of an image. If no part of the image is IN FOCUS then that is a problem with the camera, lens or user.
