In Robo 11, when generating WebHelp, the toc and index are not accesible. The buttons are there, but they're not active.

Have you applied the patches?

Which browsers does this occur in?

Hi Peter, no I haven't installed any patches. Where can I find them?

I installed RoboHelp 11 v11.0.0.179 last Friday.

The problems occur when I publish WebHelp to Firefox. Also happens when I

publish to my desktop.

Just a minute ago I noticed the Search function doesn't work when i publish

FlashHelp to Firefox.

Thanks,

Hi Peter, I downloaded the RH11.zip file, extracted the 3 files

(whibody.htm, whphost.js, whutils.js) and copied them to the ...WebHelp5Ext

\template_stock folder,

I restarted Robo11 & generated WebHelp, but the same problem remains - no

Contents, Search, Glossary or index buttons (the buttons are there, but are

inactive).

Next step?

Thanks, Chuck

Without checking, that sounds like a fix for a specific issue. You need

http://blogs.adobe.com/techcomm/2015/01/robohelp-11-update-released-rh-11-0-4.html

Hi Peter, found an interesting way to enable the Contents, Index & search

buttons:

Generate Webhelp to file system, (Contents, Index & search buttons are

inactive).

Copy the url in the above window into a newly-opened IE window.

All three buttons are now active.

I was having so many problems i de-installed v11 and installed it again.

I've noticed it now takes a much longer time (approx. 25 minutes) to

generate FlashHelp - no idea why.

Cheers, Chuck

That makes no sense but hey, if it works...

As to FlashHelp, I have not seen anything that would help explain why it is now taking so long to generate. I wonder if there is some common cause.

Thanks Peter.

I will re-install v11 and see if it compiles FlshHelp any faster. Will let

you know what happens.

Thanks, Chuck

Peter,

I am having a similar issue with Firefox where the TOC, index and glossary do not display. I have updated, and am running RH 11.0.4.291.

I may have messed things up by doing some things out of order. I had already updated to 11.0.4 and then I replaced the whutils.js, whphost.js and whbody.htm. I generated the help and it worked great in Firefox and IE.

I made some changes yesterday and regenerated, but now Firefox is again not displaying the index, TOC or glossary.

I've tried reinstalling update 4 (thinking it would correct any mismatch with the files I mentioned earlier), and he installation is successful Upon regenerating, the TOC, index and glossary still do not display in Firefox (version 43 or 47).

Any thoughts you might have on correcting this are much appreciated. Thank you!

Given what you have changed, I think I would uninstall using something like

Revo Uninstaller and then reinstall.

First though, try one of the sample projects or a new simple project, just

two or three topics.

Thank you for your quick response, Peter. I didn't mention that I had tried a sample projects, but it had the same result.

I was hoping there would be a magical solution that would help me avoid a reinstall (our IT group has to do that), but I agree that seems like the next step.

Thanks again.

The fact you get the problem with the samples does sort of confirm it is an installation issue. Do get IT to make sure the RoboHelp folders are empty or non-existent after they remove the current installation.
