What version of Windows? How do you know it's being caused by InDesign?

When InDesign is not turned on, theres no problem with filemanager.
Can I download updates for CS3, that fixes the incompatibilities? After all, I purchased it at a high price, and dont find it agreeable that it should not be able to be adapted to developments in the general IT-environment.

There are no updates to InDesign CS3 – it's EOL.

Well thats sad. I dont know "EOL", but understand the situation.
Thank you anyway. Luckily the problem is not consequently present - so I can deal with it by turning the pc off and on, when it presents.

EOL = End of life.

There are updates for 5 years. After that you can expect to need to upgrade, it is not Adobe's plan that the high price is a "use for life" product. All CS versions are now EOL, we are now in Creative Cloud Subscriptions.

InDesign CS3 is a very old version (10 years old)  and won't be compatible with recent operating systems.
