I can't move my slides anymore, even if I'm in a folder. So I can't create a collection any more. I clic on the slide, but the slide refuses to be moved.

Working with LR6, Mac OS Sierra 10.12.5 on a Mac Book Pro. I tried several folders, I restasted the computer, I used a wired mouse instead of the track pad : did not work.

Thank for help.

Some people have long-ingrained habits relating to physical "slides", that are hard to fight.

The LR graphical interface and workflow use slides / negatives as a visual metaphor (skeuomorphic) as well as verbally, and this can encourage us to internally conceive of the bordered thumbnails seen in LR, in closely similar terms to mounted 35mm negatives or transparencies.

Make sure you are clicking on the image and not on the border.

If you are, you might want to reset your preferences

Hal.

In that case every painfully learned instinct - that internal voice - screams: "don't touch that bit - you'll only scratch it or get fingermarks. ALWAYS pick up slides... only by their edges!"

People afflicted by this (and I had to overcome this too) may sincerely be convinced they HAVE tried to pick up the photo itself - despite having each time grabbed it by the border, despite themselves.

Well put, Richard. It always feels wrong to grab the "slides" by the image.

Thank you so much! Of course it works fine by grabing the slide by the center of the image. I'm surprised though by the simplicity of the solution. I'm using LR for years, and I was convinced that I had to grab the slide by the edges. Did my mind slid or did something change in my settings?..
