I have recently installed Photoshop CC 2017 after using CS6. I also use Photoshop Bridge. When I open a photograph from Bridge the tool bar on the left has gone. Can anyone advise on how to get the tool bar back please. many thanks

Do you mean the Photoshop toolbar?
If so try Window > Tools
