Hi, my aging 8 year old quad core PC needs replaced, Lightroom and Photoshop are now very slow. Not sure what spec I need to try and future proof as best i can. I'm looking at either an Intel I5 7600 and Ryzen 1600X processors. Can anyone please advise on the forum what I should be looking for. My budget is approx.. £1050 sterling.
Thanks
In general, you want the fastest CPU you can afford. Since there have been reports that Lightroom (this is a bug) runs slowly for some people who have more than 4 core processors, then you want the fastest 4 core processor that you can afford.
Now perhaps you don't need the fastest processor that is out there, depending on what you are doing and how large your photos are (in megapixels, not megabytes), and how big your monitor is (in pixels). But only you can answer that.
