Is there a way to print/convert a document into a booklet format without rearranging the pages?

I want to print 8.5x11 pages on 11x17s and when stacked, folded and stapled they read as a booklet. I know I can do this by moving around pages so they'd print int the correct order, but I was hoping there was a more efficient way so that I can use for future documents as well.

This is work for printing-house. Usual they do this for customer for free by preps/signa/QIP/etc imposition software.

Why you not ask your print-office about it?
