Ever since the update to CC 2017, I have an issue with placing .pdf files on the page. The placed image does not retain the dimensions of the original .pdf, the box is resized to the area where there are text and images. These files are supposed to be printed onto plates for mass manufacture of print goods. These imported images will not correctly click into the plate-template because the center and edges of the .pdfs are all incorrect. Traditionally I get around this by drawing a box the size of the page into the file in Illustrator... but I'm working on a job with lots of fonts we don't have, I can't alter the file without changing all the fonts.
How can I get a .pdf to PLACE inside an Indesign file while maintaining its correct and original dimensions?
Show options when placing the PDF. Whatever you choose will be sticky.
Admittedly it took a few minutes to figure out that you were referring to a checkbox in the place menu, but I was able to sort things out from there. I appreciate the assist. Thanks!
I like teaching people fish. Glad you got it sorted.
