Eraser effect defaults to 99% opacity

Hello all,

I'm experiencing an issue where the Eraser effect in After Effects defaults to 99% opacity. So every time I use it to erase something, a small amount of the image is there, until I go into the setting and change the opacity to 100%.

I use the eraser tool constantly for my job, and while it's not a drastic inconvenience, having to go into the setting's each time adds up over time. I haven't experienced this problem until the most recent update, and so my main question is this: Is there anything I can do to fix this on my end? Or am I stuck waiting for another update?
