What device are you trying to use?
Signing using sha256 by default using many different smart cards
Since Acrobat/Reader can handle the certificate on a PC/Mac I expect as the message state the device you are using does not support or the implementation of Reader on your device does not support external certificates including Adobe's.
There are many features of Acrobat/Reader that are not supported on mobile devices and Reader on mobile devices.

We are trying on PC and Mac with a AthenaSmartCard Reader. The smartcard reader model is ASEDrive V3C R. However, when the document is signed the LTV statement looks like enabled, but once we send the document via e-mail, flashdrive , for example, the LTV statement appers as disabled. We think that the problem is when the digital signature created on the document.
