Slicing large file (30,000ppi) into smaller files without scaling

I have a 30,000ppi x 10,000ppi image I'd like to slice into 30 smaller pieces, each being 5000ppi x 2000ppi.

I was hoping slices would be the answer. However, when I try saving (using Save for Web option) a scaling factor is applied to the resulting slices. Is there a way to get this done without doing it manually?

Please help, I'm on deadline!

Thanks in advance!

I think you mean pixels, not ppi?

Do you have to slice? You can generate them if they are all in their own layers. Simply name the layers or groups -  image.jpg or image.png and select generate. I haven't sliced in a million years, much better ways of doing things now.

Thank you for your speedy reply melissa!

You are correct, I do mean pixels.

I'm dealing with a flat piece of art that I need to divide up some how into 30 equal component parts. Any ideas?

I'd make a grid using View > New Guide Layout, and using the marquee snapped to guides, copy/paste each segment from the background to make a new layer. Yeah, that's tedious - anyone know of a faster way?

Once done with that, File > Export > Layers to Files.

Save for web has an 8192 pixel dimension limit. Anything above that will be scaled.

An alternative would be to crop and save each section separately using Save As or Export As (which does not have that limit)

Thanks Dave! Do you know a way to do this automatically rather than manually? I have several files that need this treatment.
