I just started using illustrator so I'm not very familiar with it.
I drew a picture in adobe draw on my ipad and then opened it in illustrator on my desktop, when I save it as a pdf, grey lines show up in the background and I can't figure out why. I've been searching this up for quite a while now but I cant figure this out. Is there a way I can make the background all white?

I don't see black lines.
When you open your Draw file in Illustrator, check the layers panel. Usually Draw puts a slightly colored rectangle in the back of the file. Delete that.
And then: Do you print your PDF via File > Print?
That workflow is legacy. Just save the PDF via File > Save as
