Are you having trouble seeing thumbnails for your images when opening in Photoshop? I don't have that problem, but I'm using Windows 10. I believe Photoshop uses the codecs provided by the OS at that level, so I'm not sure what's up there. (This is one of the reasons why I use Bridge for my file browsing and opening in Photoshop needs.)
