Photoshop CC 2017 crashes after every action! Help!

starts up, loads image or creates new one, but every time I perform an action (IE, firestorm) I get this, or some variation.

running windows 7 64-bit

What have you done for trouble-shooting so far?

Restoring Preferences after making sure all customized presets like Actions, Patterns, Brushes etc. have been saved might be a good starting point:

Fingers crossed, did that and updated the video/graphics driver ( windows apparently thinks 4 versions behind is updated) and reset the prefs, so far is working with 0 crashes.
