updated to Animate CC 2017 - now my lib is undefined

Hi everyone!  Please help me shed some light on this - I've just updated to Animate CC 2017 (from Animate 2015.2) and suddenly the same script I've been running successfully breaks on the following:

var contents = new lib.contents();

error message reads 'lib' is undefined

Has anything changed in the way we access movieclips?

The HTML template may have changed. Go into Publish Settings, Advanced, and click the Use Default button if it's enabled.

If you have previously done custom HTML in the template you may need to redo those changes.

I have done that, so that's not it...

I ended up bypassing that issue by using an entire exportRoot (which includes the movieclip in question) to gain access to it.  Just wondering what has changed that precludes me from accessing a specific movieclip though.
