Hello,
I am in a pickle. The inDesign document I am currently working on has started to crash, and now will not open without making inDesign immediately shut down.
I don't know what to do, as this document is unfinished and deadlines are impending. So... help! Please.
Thanks very much, in advance for any assistance someone can lend!
Hi,
There are multiple factors both internal and external to InDesign application that can lead to document corruption. However, I can take a look and see if the file can be repaired. Please email your InDesign file to corrupt_indesign_docs@adobe.com and I will take a look at the document.
If the file is larger than 10 Mb, you can zip (and password protect) the file and upload to Creative Cloud account (or Dropbox) and send us the document link.

I would suggest starting here, specifically the first three options: back up the document, update the software, and manually reset preferences.
Troubleshoot damaged InDesign documents
If you can open other files but not that one, there is a paid service that can recover damaged documents:
Markzware DTP File Recovery Service
Looking ahead, it's important to back-up your files so that if the active file becomes corrupt or goes missing, you can open the back-up, catch up and then continue working.

You could try the script mentioned here
It will attempt to save the file to IDML without fully opening it.

Dear Sanyam,
Thank you so much for your help! It is truly appreciated.
Adobe community,
I emailed Sanyam Talwar, as he suggested to me. The next day, I received a repaired file from Himanshu Kapoor!
Only a tiny bit of information was lost in the corrupted file. It was truly an averted total disaster.
In conclusion, a big thank you goes out to Adobe for saving the day!
All the best to everyone out there, I hope your issue is resolved soon.
