Here's one I've never come across before:

  • This image is not showing nor can it be exported, “Image empty”.
  • It’s not a Smart Object.
  • No link errors.
  • No blending mode and opacity set at 100%.
  • I can select the cutout of the image as seen in screenshot.
  • The thumbnail shows the image.
  • No filter/layer style applied.
  • When the layer is selected, layer options at top of panel is greyed out.
  • Folders are likewise at a 100% opacity or else everything else would be invisible.
  • This is happening on several, but not all layers and a couple of folders.

Thoughts?

HA! Nevermind.

Found the solution.

The group that sent it to me had constructed a timeline for a GIF (which they didn't tell me). The playhead wasn't in the correct time for the layer to appear.

Deleted the timeline. Everything shows.

Thanks for the views though!

I'm glad you came back on this. I've spent the last 15 mins trying to reproduce it . I never thought of the timeline

okay Photoshop support helped me.  it's working.  its a compatiblity issue with new version and my graphics card.

in photoshop She went into Preferences --Performance and unchecked the graphics processor – disabled it.

it seems to be fixed for now . I still need to update graphics drivers next week  thank you community!
