New to scripts - Renaming and running actions at the same time

Hi!

I need to process out images into 4 different sizes which I have an action for.

Which puts them into 4 different folders.

   etc

I then have to rename the files using Mac renamer or external programs.

Is there a way to create a script where the action runs and automatically renames the files from each folder.

I have tried it in an action but the rename doesn't work well.

I action about 50 images at a time.
