I can see the outline of a precomposition in my video when deselected

Hi all,

I have been creating a 3d scan effect in after effects following from surface studios tutorial and I ran into a problem. From my Grid effect composition sitting in the main comp you can see a white outline even the the layer is deselected. These 2 photos show the grid comp and the main comp. See how you can see outlines when the layer is deselected. Please help me find a solution

Check your composition dispaly settings in the relevant flyout menu and the global preferences (show bounding box and al lthat stuff)

Sorry I dont quite know where those settings options are. Could you please send a screenshot of the location those settings are.

Comp settings:  cmd-k (mac) / ctl-k (win).

Preferences: Edit > Preferences.

Removing the bounding box got rid of the lines outside the frame but the random white light are still rendering in the final comp.
