Hi I have purchased a new computer that has a 4K monitor.

My Adobe Fireworks CS6 desktop now displays tiny icons.

Does adobe have a more recent Adobe Fireworks that is not cloud driven that installs and runs on a PC?

Thank you

Hi Kglad,

Thank you for the reply.

I already have these updates.

These updates are not compatible with 4K monitors.

Fireworks desktop icons are so tiny you need a magnifying glass to see them.

This was also the case with several other programs I own.

The manufacturers of my other programs released 2017 upgrades that displays properly on 4K monitors.

Adobe Fireworks is the only program left that I have that is not compatible with 4K monitors.

Adobe should be providing a 2017 Adobe Fireworks CS7.

Adobe Fireworks is simply a fantastic program there is no excuse not to release a 2017 update.

Do you know if there is a substitute from another manufacturer?

Thank you.

CS6 is 4+ years old and is the last version with a serial number... if you want a newer Adobe program, it is a Cloud subscription

Hi John T,

Thank you very much for providing the links for fixing Adobe products using 4K monitors.

Dan Antonielli is brilliant,

His solution for fixing Fireworks CS6 with 4K monitors works perfectly.

He even provides the fixes for other Adobe products.

I have been using a large magnifying glass for these last 5 months!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't understand why Adobe does not include his text in a PDF file, his Video tutorial including his files in the Adobe download page making this more easily available to everyone,

The Least Adobe could do is provide the link in their download to Dan Antonielli's website.

Thank you very much.

A faster and easier solution:

  1. Find your Adobe Fireworks CS6 shortcut (Start > Right click Adobe Fireworks CS6 > Open File Location.
  2. Right click on the Adobe Fireworks CS6 shortcut, click 'Properties'.
  3. Go to the 'Compatibility' tab.
  4. Click on 'Change high DPI settings'.
  5. Make sure the checkbox 'Override high DPI scaling behaviour' is ticked.
  6. Select 'System (Enhanced)' from the dropdown box. (just 'System' will also probably work too)
  7. Click OK, then apply.
  8. Exit fireworks if it's running, then run it again from the shortcut you just edited. Profit!
