Authorization issues after Authorizing Bluefire Reader

I recently setup an Adobe ID to be able to view DRM protected books from ProQuest.  Per ProQuest's instructions, I downloaded BlueFire Reader to my device and authorized it using my AdobeID.  Afterwards, I installed Adobe Digital Editions on my laptop and attempted to activate my laptop with the same Adobe ID.  However, I get the following message instead:

"You can only authorize this computer with an Adobe ID that hasn't been previously used to authorize any other computer or mobile devices.  Please try again."

I tried to deauthorize my mobile device then try again, but to no avail.  I thought the whole point was to be able to do this with multiple devices?

Thanks for the help.

My problem is similar but slightly different.  I emailed the folks at ProQuest as well and haven't heard back.  I started a conversation yesterday in the community and haven't heard from anyone yet.
