I just downloaded Experience Design and nothing shows up at all. Not even with the tutorial. I am on a Mac version 10.12.6. I can click a tool and drag but nothing shows up.

Sorry to hear you are having this problem!
Can you tell us a little bit about your hardware (computer and monitor setup)? Maybe do an 'About this Mac' and give us any additional information there?
Also, was this the first version of XD that you installed, or had you installed a previous version.
Thank you!
Daniel

Hello! Thank you for getting back to me. Here is my About Mac section
As for my set up, this is on my MacBook Pro, so just my laptop. This is my first time downloading XD.

Hmm, that's a pretty common setup there - I think I may have the exact same config at home. I'm a little stumped! Any chance you have rebooted since you installed? I'd be curious if the canvas is visible after a reboot.
I'm going to ask around for any other theories.

The only time I've seen this is when my Macbook Pro's GPU was defective.
Can you open the latest version of the Chrome browser, and type "chrome://gpu" in the URL bar and hit enter?
Copy the contents here from the following sections: Graphics Feature Status, Driver Bug Workarounds, and Problems Detected?
Thanks!

The file name at the top of your screen shot is Dishy_app_Green_Palette... what happens if you open a New doc or a tutorial from your Creative Cloud Manager?

Yep she mentioned above that the tutorial etc doesn't work either.

Hello again! Thank you for the feedback! It just started working randomly, but when I close the application and try and reopen it, it does the same thing again. The only way I've found to fix this problem is to restart my computer. Any thoughts??

To speculate further I'd need the report from Chrome - it might shed light.

Everything looks to be in order with the diagnostic output.
You said it works ok after a reboot, are you connecting an external monitor? If so, what if you don't will it continue to work?
