How to open password protected ebook in Digital Editions ?

When trying to open a password protected file in Digital Editions

it gives error:

      Password protected pdf not supported by this version of Digital Editions.

Is there a version of Digital Editions that does support password protected pdf ?

This is a very important feature for ebook publishing.

There is no current version of Digital Editions that supports opening PDF files which require a password to open.

IS THERE NO DEVLOMENT ON ADE AT ALL?!?!?!?!?

This is 8 years ago and a standard feature to be able to use ADE for E-book reading, and STILL no possibility for this. The size of Adobe as a company considered this is not acceptable
