Do you have a viewport set in your html page? Its possible the default viewport settings changed in cli-7.0.1. If not here's a sample one you can play with:
<meta name="viewport" content="user-scalable=no, initial-scale=1, maximum-scale=1, minimum-scale=1, width=device-width, height=device-height, target-densitydpi=device-dpi" />
I'd also suggest inspecting with the Chrome Developer tools and see if there's any difference in styles being applied.
i have tried to fix the html5 video but it's still not working.
when i preview my app in a browser (chrome, safari ) the video works fine, but after cli 7.0.1 build the html5 video does not play. i have also check my whitelist and the site is whitelisted. please any other idea i can try to fix this or does cli 7.0.1 not suppoprt html5 videos on android?
Thanks once again for your reply.
no, i did not use chrome dev tools because I don't know how and could not find any clear tutorials on how to use it. I don't think there is an error in my app's code that is affecting the html5 videos because when I change the phonegap build version code to cli 6.5.0, the video works fine.
if it's not too much to ask you can try it yourself and see if an html5 video will play in an app built with phonegap built cli 7.0.1.

Quite simple to use, and something you need to learn if you're serious about doing hybrid dev on Android:
- Connect your android device to your computer.
- Ensure Developer Options are enabled on your Android test device.
- Launch Google Chrome Web Browser on your computer.
- Navigate to chrome://inspect in Chrome.
- Select your PhoneGap Application running on your device, and the Developer tools will launch.

I'm unable to try this at the moment.
What Android version(s) are you having this issue on? What version of the Android System WebView is installed?
You might also try getting the Android tools installed if they aren't already, and connect your device to your dev machine. Then run "adb logcat" while trying to play the video. There might be some messages getting logged that could help pinpoint the issue.
While I'm thinking of it -- what encoding are the videos using? Are they local or remote?
Thank you very much ryanskihead,
adding the viewport code to the head of my html code fixed the UI issue and the html5 video not playing was cause by the whitelisting plugin.
for some reason i don't understand, phonegap build cli 7.0.1 build does not work with
allow-intend but with allow-navigation
and it works fine.
Thanks for your reply. it was the whitelisting plugin code that was the problem.
Many thanks for the solution!
