I am a CC Photoshop subscriber running an I Mac. I wish to install CS (8) on an old Windows computer running XP pro. I have the original installation disk and it appears to install ok. I add the serial number and then get into the authorization round about and seem totally unable to get in contact with Adobe to resolve this matter. I get to their chat service but it does not respond and the telephone activation is discontinued. Auto activation does not work either. It is driving me mad.

The activation servers for CS and CS2 have been shut down.

Adobe has provided a non-activation version of CS2 as a replacement.

First uninstall the old version of CS, then download and install CS2 from here:

"Activation server unavailable" error in Adobe CS2, Acrobat 7, and Audition 3

Do not use your old serial, use the one that is provided next to the download.

Jan. 2020   Just wasted over two hours on Adobe's useless chat line to be offered an expensive app because I can't reload my CS2 version after a computer crash.   This link provides no reference to CS2 downloads nor the (fictitious?) alternate recovery version mentioned in other posts which does not require an authorization code.   Why am I unable to operate a program for which i have paid, have all the original discs but am prevented to reinstall and use it???
