Gopro Hero 6 Video files won't open in Photoshop CC

My previous GoPro video files (Hero 5) opened with no problems in Photoshop CC,however the Hero 6 files do not seem to work in photoshop CC - all I get is a checkerboard pattern. Any advice on how to fix this? The files are .MP4 as the hero 5 ones were.

The GoPro Hero 6 uses h.265 for video compression, till now, theres no adobe support for this format on Photoshop

Hopefully the next version of photoshop, which is due out very soon will provide HEVC support.
