How do I set my brushes in the tool column to default please

My brush icon does not show the option of choosing from 4 brushes.

I assume there is a default button somewhere to use, please help?

Do you mean the Brush Tool in the Toolbar does not offer the secondary Tools (Pencil Tool, …)?

If so check Edit > Toolbar to see if Tools have been removed and reset if you so choose.
