CC 2017 can't add to selection properly

just upgrade to 2017; now I can't use lasso to add to existing selection - or I can, and it "looks" right. but when I use a bucket fill or try to grab with magic wand it sees the two area (the existing and the new) as two different colors/groups. hard to update colors.

This was working fine before upgrade. I checked all my settings for lasso, magic wand bucket tool. Using the same ones as in CC 2015.

Any ideas what else to check? It's a pain to miss pixels when trying to update colors.

Thanks

Hi Lindsylulu,

You may try an reset the Photoshop preferences back to defaults and check if that helps to fix this issue also, you can update the Photoshop to CC 2018 version.
