I have just started using the software. I was very excited how easy it was to use and record a demonstration of our new imaging software. But when I played it back in Preview it did not record or show the animations that are in our software between screen clicks.

How do I get it to do that.

Captivate cannot automatically recognize "dynamic" actions on the screen such as constantly changing graphs. You can force it into full-motion=recording (FMR) mode by pressing the function key F9 while recording. Stop FMR by pressing F10. Good luck and welcome to the posting community for Captivate users.

Thanks so much for your imput. I really need this work to be done today so I appreciate your quick response. Hitting F9 did not help. It still missed all the animations and flash screen.

Okay, is it possible to create a movie in the "normal" way, using regular recording (demo / assessment / etc.) and then go back and get the "action" using a new movie using FMR mode. Then you could import or copy/paste the full-motion into the original movie. Does that make sense to you? I'm a little handicapped not knowing what you are recording, or wanting to, exactly. HTH!
